Hair hassles holding you back? Whether it’s thinning hair, damaged hair, frizzy hair or greasy hair, we talk through some of the most common hair problems and what you can do to help your hair bounce back into shape.

We’ve all experienced it. Those ‘aaaaarggh’- moments in front of the mirror when our hair is giving us a scare. Hair problems can come in different forms and at the most inconvenient times.

The good news is that there are things you can do to plump up the volume, smooth out and control the frizz, refresh your roots and bring back shine and lusciousness to dry, damaged hair - all in the space of 3 minutes!

Read on to learn what Aussie can do to bring back your hair’s mojo.

Hair problems

Let’s take a look at some of the more common hair worries and the Australian-born superhero that’s here to rescue you.

Thinning hair

Some people are naturally born with thinner hair. Some people have thin strands, but lots of them. While we’ve not yet invented a product that’ll make your hair grow thicker, we have created products that can increase its volume and fullness if that’s what you’re after.

Infused with Australian Kakadu Plum extract, our Aussie Volume collection will lead you to the luscious locks you’ve been dreaming of.

Step 1: Our Aussie Volume Shampoo will leave your hair full bodied and full of bounce. Massage into wet hair and then rinse out. Make sure you’ve given your roots a deep, yet gentle, clean to remove all dirt (shampoo twice if needed!) - this is where the volume starts.

Step 2: Using a conditioner will nourish your ends and help protect them from breaking, so follow-up the shampoo with our light-weight Aussie Volume Conditioner. If your hair needs some extra TLC swap the conditioner for our 3 Minute Miracle Volume Deep Treatment. Apply a generous amount to your lengths (from mid-length to tips) depending on how much of a treat it needs. Don’t apply conditioner or treatment directly to the roots if you want to maximize the volume.

Step 3: Towel dry your hair and take care when brushing to help prevent it from breakage. Start at the very tips of your hair and brush a small section and then continue upwards. This way you’ll minimize the hair tangling (which is likely if you start combing from the very top from the beginning).

Step 4: If you’re looking to pump up the volume to the max try our Aussie Uplift Your Hair volumizing mousse before air-drying or blow-drying your hair. Then finish off the look with Aussie Uplift Your Hair hairspray.

Step 5: Ta-dah!

Dry, damaged hair

Ooh your poor hair! They can hear those cries for help all the way down under! Any of these sound familiar?

  • Over-styled

  • Over-coloured

  • Over-done

It doesn’t matter how you got there, our 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Treatment with authentic Australian Macadamia Nut Oil is the one you want to help repair extremely damaged, fragile hair. This treatment can be used as often as you like, to help your hair bounces back to its Aussie best.

The Aussie 3 Miracle Oil Reconstructor is another miracle worker that will visibly repair damaged hair. This miracle lightweight oil is infused with Australian Macadamia Nut Oil, Australian Jojoba Seed Oil and Avocado Oil. Apply to wet or dry hair as a leave-in conditioner before you brush and style, or as the finishing touch to your final do.

If you find an oil too heavy for you, try one of our conditioning sprays such as the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Conditioning spray, or our Scent-Sational Protect Conditioning Mist with touch-activated scent to leave hair smelling gorgeous and ready to face the day.

Greasy hair

Want to know how to fix greasy hair? If you’re washing regularly and still find the grease hard to bear, try following these greasy hair hacks and quick fixes;

  • Touching your hair: Yep! The oil on your hands transfers straight to your hair, so the more you comb through your hair with your fingers, the greasier it’ll look.

  • Using too much conditioner or applying it to the roots: A little goes a long way when your hair may naturally produce more oils than others. Stick to the lengths of your hair (mid-length to tips) applying more generously the further down towards the ends you come, and make sure you wash thoroughly.

  • Using a dirty hairbrush: If you’ve not cleaned your brush for a while, you might want to give it a spring clean! Hair caught in your brush might be contributing to the greasy look.

  • Applying too much product: A build-up of products on your hair doesn’t help, so use only what you need to and use a deep cleansing shampoo to wash away any residue.

Now we know what to avoid, here’s what we should add to our routine to battle the grease; First, cleanse the dirt, oils and pollution away with our Australian Eucalyptus infused Mega Shampoo, the perfect greasy hair remedy. It’s designed for everyday cleaning and smells fab too! Follow up with our Mega Conditioner, focusing on the lengths and tips of your hair, to replenish lost moisture.

Frizzy hair

Frizz can be hard to handle, so get on top of it with our Calm the Frizz collection that leaves the hair beautifully nourished and smooth (so smooth it should be illegal). Read up on how to get rid of frizzy hair so you’re always prepared and on top of those hair problems.

With Aussie, we now hope that you can put those hair worries to rest. For effortlessly gorgeous hair, just look for the bottle with the kangaroo.
